At least 100 officers and members of the Legazpi City Women’s Federation (LCWF) from 17 villages located in Albay District were trained on making liniment oil and balm at the covered court of Barangay East Washington Drive here on Thursday.
In an interview, LCWF president Geraldine Rosal, wife of Mayor Noel Rosal, said the women comprised the second batch of trainees on various forms of livelihood packages as part of the Women’s Month celebration this March.
“We trained already the first batch participated by 118 LCWF members from the northern portion of the city last March 1 at Rawis Covered court,” she said.
The training, she noted, is part of the livelihood programs of the LCWF aimed at giving their members additional knowledge that they can use to increase their daily income.
Rosal said the participants used organic materials such as ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, pepper, coconut and canola oil, and essence of eucalyptus.
After the training, the women were also given vegetable seedlings and fertilizers for their backyard gardening. (PNA)
