Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu has been crowned Miss Universe on Sunday, December 12 in Eilat, Israel, after defeating over 79 other candidates from a variety of countries in total, including runner-up Miss Paraguay and Miss South Africa.

Sandhu, 21, before doing her first walk as the new Miss Universe on the platform was awarded the crown by her successor, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza.

The annual pageant was put on hold because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic; therefore, her victory came around five months later than usual.
Here’s everything you need to know about India’s delegate, Harnaaz Sandhu.
Harnaaz Sandhu, whose Twitter bio reads, “Shine like the whole Universe is yours”, is a Chandigarh-based Indian model. She won the Miss Diva Universe 2021 title, which prepared the path for her to compete in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant.
Sandhu began modeling when she was young, and she has since modeled for a variety of major events. She gradually worked her way up to beauty pageants, eventually winning her first and becoming Miss Chandigarh in 2017.
In 2019, Harnaaz Sandhu competed in the Femina Miss India contest and placed in the top 12.

In the year 2021, she competed in the Miss Diva Universe pageant and won. With her brilliance and charm, as well as her social awareness, she aced every round. Harnaaz was crowned Miss Diva 2021 after delivering a fantastic speech on global warming and climate change that wowed the judges.

Sandhu is a professional actor and her favorite actor is Priyanka Chopra, whom she draws most of her inspiring work. In 2022, she plans to release two Punjabi LMS. She hopes that her characters in LMS defy the world’s prejudices of women.
Harnaaz Sandhu believes that her mother was the source of her motivation. Her mother defied patriarchy to become a successful gynecologist and to lead her family, according to her Miss Universe delegate bio. Harnaaz was inspired to support women’s interests and campaign for their empowerment as a result of this. Harnaaz is also an outspoken supporter of women’s constitutional rights to education, employment, and personal independence.
Harnaaz also enjoys social gatherings with his acquaintances. Yoga, dancing, cooking, horseback riding, and chess are some of her favorite activities. It has been 21 years since India has won the Miss Universe title, and Harnaaz Sandhu is the first Indian woman to get back its crown.
