The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) has started the registration of its 2,500 health workers who are among the top priority in the national coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program.

Dr. Leamor Fangonilo, Public health expert at the BGHMC, on Thursday, said they have submitted a master list of all the 2,500 workers of the hospital but they are individually registering the workers for the issuance of the quick response (QR) code of the health worker that will bear his profile.

BGHMC is the region’s Covid-19 referral hospital. It is the biggest health workforce provider for the Covid-19 vaccination and response of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

She said that BGHMC is among the pilot hospitals nationwide to receive the vaccines.

“The vaccines are coming in the country, we in the Cordillera, at BGHMC, the referral center for Covid patients, kailangan maging ready din kami. We are the biggest health workforce ng ating programa (we need to be ready because we are the biggest health workforce of our program),” she said.

In registering, Fangonilo said they are also individually counseling the health workers. They are asked if they understood the procedure, then they will proceed to the signing of consent to receive the vaccine.

She hopes that all their workers and employees will receive the vaccine for their protection, being directly involved in the effort to control the disease. (PNA)
