A total of 1,225 household-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from five municipalities in Antique province have exited the program intended for the poorest of the poor.

DSWD 4Ps Social Welfare Officer 2 Marian Dumana, in an interview on Wednesday, said graduation ceremonies were conducted for 361 beneficiaries from the towns of Hamtic, 280 from Bugasong, 339 from Patnongon, 139 from Belison and 106 from Barbaza on Jan. 24 and Jan. 25.

“The 1,225 household beneficiaries that have already graduated are part of the total 3,341 graduating beneficiaries in the 17 towns of Antique this January,” Dumana said in an interview.

She added that 4Ps beneficiaries were validated last year through the DSWD Listahanan.

The households have no more children between zero to 18 years old who avail of cash grants for educational and health needs as per result of the monitoring by the 4Ps personnel.

During the graduation, Dumana said beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the DSWD program.

A beneficiary from Bugasong was able to produce two seafarers while one is now working in Dubai because of the 4Ps assistance.

The cash grant also helped a vendor send her three children to school.

Under the 4Ps program, a child who is in elementary grade has a PHP300 monthly subsidy, PHP500 for junior high school, and PHP700 for senior high school.

The family is also given PHP750 for their health needs and PHP600 rice subsidy. (PNA)
