Just when you thought the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was the best, the company is set to introduce its newest Filipina superhero ‘Wave’ and Chinese superheroine ‘Aero’ in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1.
In the preview shown last May 3 by Adventures in Poor Taste and shared by writer Greg Pak in his twitter account, readers were given the chance to take a glimpse of Wave responding to a disturbance in the North Pacific only to find Aero, the Chinese superheroine, also in the same area and most likely with the same purpose.
Alas, the preview was not about the current state of affairs in the West Philippine Sea but about a new villain which easily defeated both the superheroines. However, it can be deduced that some dialogues in the preview subtly relates to that of the current dispute.
Although the preview was very short, it did gave us hints about the new series, such as: Pearl Pangan a.k.a ‘Wave,’ lives in Cebu City with water powers while her possible counterpart, Lei Ling a.k.a ‘Aero,’ is from Shanghai with air powers.
Will the series focus on the current dispute or will it tell a story of the coming together of two nationalities to defeat an even bigger threat? Fans won’t have to wait long as The War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1 is set to be released on May 08, 2019.
