An article published back in February predicted that the laptop production in China is going to take a toll due to the pandemic. Despite this, the Macbook laptop line remains eyed on by many of its avid users—particularly the working professionals.

With the economy collapsing and slowly getting back on track, you would expect that people would lean towards getting one in the lower price range or make do with what they currently have, but they choose the international brand. What is the reason behind this?

Due to the community quarantine brought by the pandemic, people have transitioned to the remote or work from home setting. This caused them to either have a reduced or multiplied workload.

Amid all these, Macbook is facing a high demand but low supply in in manufacturing.

China, being the “World’s Factory and manufacturing powerhouse, has greatly affected many consumers when it placed its cities under total lockdown in early 2020. This paused the production for quite some time.

The Philippines has been placed in Enhanced Community Quarantine in the middle of March.

Travel restrictions have been imposed, making it hard to ship items from abroad. Flights have also allotted minimum capacity so essentials have been the utmost priority.

Getting yourself a brand new laptop on the spot can be rare. There are instances when a reservation has to be done.

Now, even after securing a spot, it could still take some time before finally receiving your unit/s. Some people have to wait for weeks or up to a month and more.

Macbook has always been geared for the workplace. Props to its “fast processors”, “incredible graphics”, people across the globe swear on its power to deliver.

This is a developing story.
